Have you ever had one of those days where you just don't want to be bothered? Yesterday was that day for me. I just didnt want to be bothered. Didnt want to go through the morning commute hassle that is NYC. Just wanted to ignore the clock and stay in bed. But life comes with responsibilities which sometimes take precedence over the urge to call out. It was also the gift exchange day at my workplace. In the past I have not had the best experiences with the secret Santa. I was very skeptical about taking part. Especially since I am still a new employee at my site. I signed up for it only after one of my coworkers revealed the twist to this exchange:- Each participant got to create a wish list naming three items that you would like to receive. The giver would then select which item they would purchase. The maximum limit for the gift was $25. My choices were 1) ball winder from knitty, 2) two skeins of cascade 220 and 3) stitch'n bitch: superstar knitting. I was in such a funk I didnt stay after my shift was over for the dinner and exchange. Butttt waiting home for me was the prize I won from the fallintofall kal/cal hosted by andi over at mysistersknitter. It was my first time participating in a kal. The group consisted of a wonderful set of knitters. I was inspired by the fos and even designs created during the kal. Anyway my prize was that beautiful skein of the Bad Grrl  handpainted sock yarn from Tempted. Also included with the yarn was tea :) definitely my way to unwind after a funky kinda day. I can't wait to knit up this fabulous beauty.

Below are some of the items I made for the knit along....
